This individual will work directly with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and New Product Development to rapidly identify quality issues, drive cross‑functional investigations, implement robust corrective actions, and prevent recurrence. The ideal candidate is highly hands‑on, data‑driven, operationally focused, and comfortable taking ownership of urgent manufacturing and customer‑impacting quality events. The role requires a strong factory‑floor presence, excellent technical problem‑solving capability, and the ability to lead investigations from initial defect detection through verified corrective action effectiveness.Key ResponsibilitiesLead site-level investigation of production nonconformances, customer complaints, and field-return failuresDrive rapid containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification activities for manufacturing and supplier-related defectsServe as the quality lead during high-priority production and customer-impacting issuesPartner closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D to resolve recurring defects and improve process robustnessMonitor and trend manufacturing defects, test failures, rework, scrap, and field-return data to identify systemic issuesUtilize structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, DOE, SPC, FMEA, and statistical analysisLead supplier quality investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actionsDevelop and improve manufacturing inspection, test, and process control strategiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologiesEnsure quality procedures and manufacturing controls are documented, implemented, and sustained in compliance with ISO 9001 requirementsProvide clear communication and investigation updates to leadership during critical quality eventsSupport transfer of lessons learned into new product introduction and manufacturing process development activitiesSkills & QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; Masters degree preferredA minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience within electromechanical manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated experience leading complex production defect investigations and root cause analysis effortsStrong understanding of manufacturing operations, process controls, and production troubleshootingProven ability to drive cross‑functional corrective actions and hold teams accountable to closureExperience analyzing manufacturing and field quality data to identify trends and systemic failuresHands‑on experience with structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, CAPA, DOE, SPC, FMEA, etc.)Strong communication skills with the ability to lead investigations across operations, engineering, and suppliersSupplier quality and corrective action management experience highly desiredFamiliarity with IPC-A-610 preferredExperience working within ISO 9001 or regulated quality systems requiredSelf‑driven, highly organized, and comfortable operating in fast‑paced manufacturing environmentsAvailable to travel Additional InformationLocation: This position is based out of our Danbury, CT facility, with travel (domestic and international) expected.Compensation: The annualized base pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $115,000 per year; the base pay offered may vary depending on several individualized factors, including market location, job‑related skills, and experience.
