Confidential Opportunity - Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Onsite - (Long Island, NY area)
Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 (DOE)
Overview
A well-established, high-performing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to drive process capability improvements and ensure product quality meets customer and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting production, leading quality initiatives, and partnering cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
Drive process capability improvements through variation reduction, SPC, and error-proofing initiatives
Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Support new product introduction (NPI), contract review, and design-for-quality efforts
Manage manufacturing process qualifications and validation activities
Oversee supplier quality and support supplier development initiatives
Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation
Participate in MRB and configuration control activities
Conduct internal audits (process, product, and quality system)
Provide technical leadership to inspection and quality teams
Support product certifications, approvals, and reliability studies
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Master's preferred)
5+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
OR 10+ years of progressive quality experience with strong supplier quality exposure
Strong knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, 5-Whys, 8D, Pareto
Experience with statistical methods, SPC, and data-driven problem solving
Solid understanding of GD&T, metrology, and inspection methods
Experience with audits, corrective actions, and compliance requirements
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience (Green/Black Belt preferred)
Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
Additional Experience Preferred
High-mix / low-volume manufacturing environments
Machining, assembly, and process control experience
Exposure to regulated or contract-driven industries
In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements, the anticipated annual base salary range for positions is: $85k-$105k annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership background.
