Job Description

Lead First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP submissions from start to finish, ensuring timely approvals and a strong first-pass success rate.

Investigate quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5-Why, implementing sustainable corrective and preventive actions.

Support AS9100, ITAR, and CMMC compliance efforts while maintaining ongoing audit readiness across the organization.

Partner with suppliers to strengthen quality performance, drive corrective actions, and support supplier qualification and development activities.

Serve as a technical quality resource for measurement systems, GD&T interpretation, CMM results, and inspection requirements for critical aerospace components.

Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce scrap, minimize rework, improve process capability, and streamline inspection activities.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to address quality challenges and ensure consistent product performance.

Analyze quality data and trends to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and risk reduction.

The Successful Applicant

5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace, precision machining, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Strong working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 (First Article Inspection), PPAP, and structured corrective action methodologies, including 8D and root cause analysis.

Proven ability to interpret complex GD&T requirements and support dimensional validation through CMM programming, review, and measurement system analysis.

Experience partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to drive quality improvements and resolve production challenges.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset focused on reducing defects, scrap, and rework.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
