Senior Quality Inspector
The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for performing advanced-level inspections of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic components, subassemblies, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with DDN's quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role provides critical support to manufacturing, supplier quality, and engineering teams by identifying non-conformances, assisting in root cause investigations, and helping implement effective corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process, incoming, and final inspections using appropriate tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscope, etc.).
- Document inspection results and non-conformances in DDN's quality systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on first article inspections (FAI), new product introduction (NPI), and production validation.
- Support supplier quality by inspecting components received from vendors and communicating quality issues for disposition.
- Assist in training junior inspectors and operators on inspection standards and techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection reports, calibration logs, and quality metrics.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements where applicable.
- Uphold a culture of continuous improvement and proactive quality management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A High-school diploma or equivalent. Other educational disciplines and industry experience will be considered.
- Experience: Prior experience in electromechanical assembly and quality inspection.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and focus when assembling components and conducting quality inspections.
- Communication Abilities: Clear and effective communication skills for documenting processes, reporting inspection results, and collaborating with team members.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP and quality management systems (e.g., Oracle, Propel, or similar platforms).
- Physical: Can lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (weekend overtime may be required).
Pay Range: $24.20-28.35/hr
