The team player will join Dewberry's national Transportation Service Line as part of growing Transit and Freight Rail Practice. Candidate must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of civil and rail design experience. Knowledgeable of AREMA track design standards and an understanding of signal system, OCS and traction power requirements.. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).In addition, a host of discounted purchase programs are available to all employees.Responsibilities- Provides a resource of railroad operational, and maintenance practices to design teams.- Works on projects of small size or portions of larger projects.- Supports preparation of written plans, reports and provides overall qc review of contract documents for compliance with AREMA, FTA, FRA requirements.Required Skills & Required Experience- BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.PE License is required.- 10 years of experience, with a strong technical background in track design and maintenance.- Position requires competence preparing rail and rail-related civil designs, including development of horizontal and vertical alignments. Understanding of rail outage impacts and maintenance requirements for track and rail bridge structures.- Experience in transportation engineering, including inspection and/or design for freight rail or passenger transit facilities.- Experience in the following technical areas:- - Vertical and horizontal rail alignments, - Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation, - Grade crossings, - Grading/drainage design, - Rail facilities design- Excellent oral and written communications skills.- Local experience is highly preferred.- A willingness to engage in business development activities in order to meet growth objectives- Strong leadership talents and demonstrated success supervising people.Don't meet every single requirement?
