The Opportunity We're hiring a Senior Real Estate Portfolio Accountant to take full ownership of the numbers behind a defined slate of properties — not as a back-office function, but a critical member of the team. You'll run the complete accounting cycle for your portfolio end to end, translate the details into insights leadership can act on, and become the go-to financial voice for Asset Management, Property Management, Treasury, and Tax If you want your expertise to move the needle — not just document what already happened — this is that role. What You'll Do Financial Close & Reporting Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities and properties Prepare financial statements and variance analyses for leadership and investors Own bank reconciliations, AP/AR oversight, and balance sheet integrity Cash & Treasury Management Manage weekly cash tracking, forecasting, and funding for your portfolio Execute wires, transfers, and ACH transactions with proper governance Monitor debt covenants and support loan management Portfolio Analysis & Strategic Insight Partner with Real Estate and Property Management on budgeting and forecasting Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis and communicate key drivers to stakeholders Review external property management reports for accuracy and improvement opportunities Development & Construction Audit development projects and validate construction spending Manage lien waivers and project reconciliations Compliance & Process Leadership Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls Drive process and system improvements Lead the 1099 process and vendor management What We're Looking For Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 5 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate, real estate, or fund/investment environments Deep knowledge of US GAAP, partnership accounting, lease accounting, and CAM reconciliations Proficiency with Business Central or a comparable real estate accounting system Compensation & Benefits performance-based incentive opportunities (based on personal and department objectives).
