Senior Recruiter, Finance Experts

About the Role

A fast-moving AI and financial services startup is hiring its first in-house recruiter to own and build its expert sourcing engine from the ground up. This is not a traditional recruiting role: the focus is entirely on finding and activating top finance professionals (investment banking, private equity, hedge funds) into a growing expert network, directly tied to company revenue and growth. You will set the strategy, pick the tools, run the campaigns, and own the funnel with minimal direction and maximum ownership.

The ideal candidate has 2 to 5 years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or growth with a clear track record in finance-vertical hiring or sourcing. You are scrappy and systems-minded, equally comfortable writing sharp outbound copy and pulling your own funnel data in a spreadsheet or SQL. Experience in tech-only recruiting with no finance exposure, or enterprise recruiting with no self-directed tooling setup, is not a fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own the full expert sourcing pipeline end to end, covering outbound prospecting, inbound campaign management, referral activation, qualification, and conversion
2. Design and run multi-channel outreach campaigns at scale across LinkedIn, alumni networks, MBA programs, and campus recruiting, using A/B testing to continuously improve results
3. Build and manage sourcing tooling and automation independently, including campaign sending platforms, LinkedIn automation vendors, and applicant tracking configuration
4. Track funnel metrics, conversion rates, and retention data, pulling your own numbers and making data-driven decisions to optimize sourcing performance
5. Write and iterate on recruiting copy and top-of-funnel messaging that resonates with finance professionals across seniority levels and specializations
6. Partner with project leads to translate upcoming client work into proactive, domain-specific sourcing plans before demand spikes
7. Establish scalable sourcing systems and processes as the founding recruiter, with an eye toward building infrastructure that grows with the team

Required Skills & Experience

• 2 to 5 years of experience as a recruiter, sourcer, growth specialist, or outbound sales representative
• Demonstrated experience in high-volume finance recruiting or sourcing (investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, campus or on-cycle recruiting, finance-vertical staffing or RPO, or finance-focused search)
• Proven ability to manage multiple sourcing channels simultaneously and run campaigns at scale, not just 1:1 recruiting
• Hands-on experience independently setting up and operating campaign sending tools and LinkedIn automation vendors
• Data fluency: comfortable owning funnel metrics, building your own reports, and making decisions from the numbers
• Ability to work fully onsite in San Francisco five days per week (relocation is considered; visa transfers including OPT and H-1B are welcome)

Preferred Skills

• Experience at finance-based, finance-adjacent, or banking-style startups
• Marketing and copywriting skills, particularly creating top-of-funnel recruiting copy and content
• Familiarity with tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Ashby, Google Sheets, SQL, or Claude Code
• Startup recruiting background with a builder mindset and comfort operating without established playbooks
