Senior Technical Recruiter (Contract – 6 Months)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Recruiter for a 6-month contract opportunity in North Houston. This role will focus on recruiting engineering, information technology, and other highly specialized technical professionals within the energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate is a strategic talent acquisition professional with a proven track record of sourcing and hiring difficult-to-fill technical talent. This position requires strong partnership with hiring managers, advanced sourcing capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts from requisition intake through offer acceptance for engineering, technical, and IT positions
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for highly specialized and hard-to-fill roles
  • Source and engage passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, referrals, market research, and direct outreach
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical engineering and technology skill sets
  • Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to understand hiring needs and workforce planning initiatives
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates for technical qualifications, experience, and organizational fit
  • Provide hiring recommendations, talent market insights, and recruiting updates to leadership
  • Coordinate interview processes and facilitate timely hiring decisions
  • Extend offers and support negotiations within established guidelines
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity and candidate data within the applicant tracking system
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, recruiting policies, and pre-employment requirements
  • Mentor recruiting team members and share sourcing and technical recruiting best practices
  • Support process improvements and strategic talent acquisition initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers through proactive communication and exceptional customer service
  • Perform additional recruiting projects and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting engineering, information technology, and other specialized technical professionals
  • Experience supporting oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or related industries
  • Strong passive candidate sourcing experience utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter and advanced recruiting techniques
  • Proven success recruiting difficult-to-fill and highly specialized positions
  • Strong interviewing, negotiation, and candidate assessment skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to build effective relationships with hiring managers and senior business leaders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting positions such as Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Managers, Technical Advisors, Engineering Managers, and other specialized technical professionals
  • Experience utilizing Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) or similar applicant tracking systems
  • Professional certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, AIRS, or other recruiting certifications
