The Senior Reliability Engineer (RCM Specialist) is responsible for leading reliability improvement initiatives within refinery and industrial environments. The role focuses on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMEA, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), reliability modeling, and maintenance strategy development for rotating, static, electrical, and instrumentation assets.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Advanced degree or relevant reliability certification is a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or asset management.
Strong hands-on experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Experience conducting FMEA, criticality analysis, and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Experience supporting refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
Experience working with rotating, static, electrical, and instrumentation assets.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with ReliaSoft tools such as Weibull++, BlockSim, XFMEA, and RCM++.
Knowledge of Weibull analysis, reliability statistics, MTBF, MTTR, and hazard rates.
Experience developing reliability models and performing reliability simulations.
Knowledge of maintenance strategy development and PM optimization.
Experience with SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent EAM/CMMS systems.
Understanding of equipment hierarchy, Functional Locations, Technical Objects, and maintenance master data.
Ability to translate RCM/FMEA outputs into PM task lists, maintenance plans, job plans, and maintenance strategies.
RCM Analysis Leadership:
Independently lead end-to-end Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies on rotating, static, electrical and instrumentation assets - from system boundary definition through Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), criticality ranking, and maintenance task selection.
Facilitate and/or perform RCM analysis workshops with client SMEs, Operations and Maintenance stakeholders.
Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and bad-actor identification to support defect elimination and reliability improvement initiatives.
ReliaSoft Application & Reliability Modeling:
Hands-on use of ReliaSoft suite (Weibull++, BlockSim, XFMEA/RCM++) for failure data analysis, life-data (Weibull) modeling, reliability block diagrams, and RCM/FMEA documentation.
Build and maintain failure mode libraries and reliability statistics (MTBF, MTTR, hazard rates) to support proactive maintenance strategy development.
Run reliability simulations to validate proposed maintenance task frequency and effectiveness, and to quantify risk/cost trade-offs.
RCM-to-EAM/SAP Integration:
Translate RCM/FMEA outputs into revised maintenance strategies, PM task lists, maintenance items and plans, and load/update them into SAP PM (or equivalent EAM/CMMS such as Maximo).
Ensure alignment between ReliaSoft-derived strategies and SAP equipment hierarchy, Functional Location/Technical Object structures, and master data standards.
Partner with Master Data/CMMS teams to verify that recommended task intervals, spares linkages, and job plans are correctly reflected and actioned in the client's enterprise system.
Own the detailed, hands-on analytical work-product under the direction of the client's program managers - this is an execution-focused role, not a people-management role.
Manage own workload and timelines across multiple equipment groups/assets in parallel, escalating risks or resourcing gaps promptly.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with client reliability/maintenance managers, operations, and engineering disciplines to validate assumptions, findings and recommendations.
Present analysis outcomes and improvement recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support knowledge transfer and coaching of client/LTTS junior engineers on RCM methodology and ReliaSoft tool usage, where required.
