SUMMARY
The Senior Remote Tower Systems Engineer position will work as part of a team supporting research and development, safety studies, technical reviews and data collection and analysis in support of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Tower program. Provides both engineering and programmatic support to the FAA Team focused on the development, tracking, and analysis of leading-edge capabilities foundational to the continued evolution of our National Airspace System (NAS) including the Remote Tower concept development and implementation.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to obtain a customer clearance for access to facilities, equipment and property (Public Trust).
Must have a PMI project management best practices (PMBOK)
Budget and spend plan experience required.
PMP certification desired.
Will require onsite work for meetings at FAA locations and at least 40% travel.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and updates Concept of Operations (Conops) documentation in support of the Remote Tower concept; identify issues and changes to Air Trafc standards and procedures resulting from use of Remote Tower systems.
Develops program strategies to align to the Remote Tower goals and objectives.
Coordinates and collaborates with industry vendors, FAA lines of business and other stakeholders in development and assessment of FAA Remote Tower operational concepts, and technical certication requirements and processes.
Develops and tracks project schedules and milestones. Develops and tracks project budget and spend plans.
Develops and executes plans for site preparation, equipment installation and operational evaluation of Remote Tower systems; reviews plans, analyzes data, and prepares reports, project proposals and other technical documentation.
Provides technical and programmatic advice to the customer.
Creates project agreements such as Other Transactions Agreements (OTAs) and Project Level Agreements (PLAs).
Coordinates, attends, and facilitates recurring team and internal/external stakeholder meetings, including the documentation and tracking of decisions and actions.
Prepares reports, briengs, white papers, conference papers and concept papers for various audiences including FAA executives and Congress.
Reviews, veries, and makes recommendations for improvements in vendor deliverables and documentation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

The estimated pay range for this role is $131,600 to $160,000 with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
