Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Report Developer to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise reporting solutions for a mission-critical Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) federal healthcare program. The role will focus primarily on SAP BusinessObjects reporting, with potential opportunities to support Microsoft Power BI and other business intelligence technologies.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing complex enterprise reports, writing SQL, analyzing data, and translating business requirements into accurate and effective reporting solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise reports using SAP BusinessObjects.
• Develop complex SQL queries to retrieve, transform, aggregate, and validate data from enterprise databases.
• Translate business and reporting requirements into technical report specifications and solutions.
• Work with Business Analysts, developers, database teams, QA, and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business rules.
• Develop operational, analytical, management, and performance reports based on program needs.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of reports.
• Troubleshoot report defects, data discrepancies, query issues, and performance problems.
• Optimize report queries and reporting solutions for performance and scalability.
• Support report testing, including functional, regression, integration, and data validation activities.
• Maintain report specifications, data mappings, technical documentation, and reporting procedures.
• Support reporting enhancements, modernization efforts, and migration to new BI technologies when required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve reporting capabilities and automate manual reporting processes.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and software development lifecycle activities.

 
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise report development, business intelligence, or data analysis.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects report development.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, and data validation.
• Experience working with relational databases and large enterprise datasets.
• Experience gathering and translating business reporting requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting reporting discrepancies.
• Experience developing and supporting production reports in enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience supporting federal government or healthcare technology programs.
• Experience working with CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, or Program Integrity environments.
• Experience with Teradata or other enterprise database platforms.
• Experience with reporting modernization or migration from BusinessObjects to Power BI or similar BI platforms.
• Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT, and enterprise data environments.
• Experience with cloud-based reporting or data platforms, particularly AWS.
• Experience with data quality, data governance, and reporting validation.

 
Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 annually. Compensation is determined in good faith and may vary based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, clearance level, labor category alignment, contract requirements, work location, internal equity, and business needs.
The posted range reflects the Sky's reasonable estimate at the time of posting and does not guarantee a specific salary or rate. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and applicable contractual and business considerations.
