PRIMARY DUTIES
Enterprise develop write and present content as assigned for newscasts specials. special projects on any platform.
Research and produce in-depth original or long-form investigative stories often using FOIA requests and data-driven reporting.
Provide guidance feedback and editorial leadership to junior reporters.
Aggressively Pursue Breaking News
Perform active live shots in the field or studio as assigned
Look for points of difference in storytelling
Support and champion the KAKE News Brand
Be able to post video and stories on web and mobile platforms
Drive and operate station vehicles
Travel long distances in the execution of assigned duties
Be available on-call as assigned
Ability to shoot & edit stories a plus
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
At least 7 years experience as a reporter
College degree in broadcast journalism
Ability to work independently with excellent editorial judgment
Deep understanding of journalistic ethics media law and accuracy
Aggressive and competitive qualities with an overriding sense of good journalism and fair reporting
Have a valid drivers license
