Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Project Manager- Per Diem (possibility to go FT).

This position will work closely with the Department Chair to direct and oversee the implementation of projects and initiatives that are core priorities for the Chair and Department. This position will be responsible for coordination of such projects and initiatives across divisions and for supporting related communication efforts to internal and external audiences. Functions independently with limited work direction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work directly with Department Chair and leadership team to help develop, support and implement core strategic initiatives by: --Conducting background research on specific topics--Identifying potential funding sources--Developing proposals, including for intramural and extramural funding--Developing presentations--Developing white papers, policy papers, think pieces for publication in high impact journals and top media outlets--Coordinating these and related efforts across divisions
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work closely with Department Chairs Executive Assistant regarding coordination of scheduling, event planning, correspondence and other logistical support.
• Compile background information on other meeting attendees and speakers.
• Draft, edit, format and proofread written materials including papers, slide presentations, speeches, emails, and briefing memos.
• Conduct literature reviews and other research relevant to departmental initiatives, as requested.
• Identify and follow up on action items from meetings and events, including eliciting follow up actions from others, compiling or exchanging information and contacts, tracking issues, and providing other assistance.
• Track and play a key role in responding to local and national funding opportunities and supporting other strategic initiatives as appropriate.
• Support assessment of and DPH response to philanthropic opportunities identified in collaboration with the Development team.
• Support specific efforts to advance departmental goals, including:--DPH strategic planning process--DPH External Advisory Board--DPHs annual Health and conference--DPHs leadership of the Primary Care and Population Health Workgroup at the New York Academy of Medicine.
• Collaborate with Communications Manager on communications aspects of special projects that DSP is developing and managing on behalf of the Chair and department.
• Concurrently oversee and manage multiple projects of medium to high complexity. --Ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and of top quality--Assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, direct and monitor work efforts, identify resource needs, perform quality review, and escalate functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately --Work effectively with key stakeholders across the department to move projects forward

 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a --Bachelors degree required. 3-5+ years of relevant project management experience.
--Superb written communication skills required with exceptional ability to write for both academic and lay audiences. Advanced PowerPoint and visual data display skills a plus.
--Skilled systems-oriented thinker with demonstrated outstanding analytic capabilities, able to evaluate and summarize a wide range of information from diverse fields and sources
--Proven ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and to work in a fast paced environment both independently and as part of a team
--Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and to work and communicate effectively with both internal and external collaborators and partners.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree strongly preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $55.76 - $96.20 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
