Senior Resident Services Coordinator

California Hotel | Oakland, CA
Salary Range: $65,000–$80,000 Annually

Help Build Community and Housing Stability at One of Oakland's Historic Affordable Housing Communities

At EBALDC, we believe affordable housing is more than a place to live—it is the foundation for healthy, thriving communities. We are seeking a compassionate, community-centered Senior Resident Services Coordinator to support residents at the historic California Hotel in Oakland.
This position plays an important role in fostering housing stability, resident engagement, and community connection. The Senior Resident Services Coordinator works collaboratively with residents, Property Management, community partners, and onsite service providers to connect residents with resources, address barriers to stability, and create opportunities for community building and leadership development.
The position is part of an experienced Resident Services team and reports to a seasoned Resident Services Manager. The role also works closely with EBALDC's Associate Director of Partnerships, who supports external partnerships and service provider relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys relationship-building, community engagement, housing stabilization, and collaborative problem-solving.

What You'll Do

Resident Support & Housing Stability
  • Support residents in accessing community resources, public benefits, employment supports, and other services that promote housing stability and well-being.
  • Respond to resident concerns and provide coaching, problem-solving, mediation, and referral assistance.
  • Coordinate with onsite service providers and community agencies to ensure residents receive appropriate support.
  • Utilize trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches when working with residents experiencing complex challenges.
Community Engagement & Resident Leadership
  • Develop and facilitate resident meetings, workshops, events, and community-building activities.
  • Build relationships with residents through outreach and ongoing engagement.
  • Support resident leadership development and participation in community engagement opportunities.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and connected residential community.
Collaboration & Program Coordination
  • Work closely with Property Management to identify and support residents facing housing stability concerns.
  • Coordinate with service providers, community partners, and Resident Services leadership.
  • Support community partnerships that expand resources and opportunities for residents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, track outcomes, and support program reporting and evaluation efforts.

What We're Looking For

  • Five or more years of experience in resident services, social services, supportive housing, affordable housing, community development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other barriers to housing stability.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Experience facilitating groups, community engagement activities, or resident leadership programs is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are highly desirable.

Why Join EBALDC?

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • Experienced leadership and strong team support
  • Meaningful work that directly impacts Oakland residents and communities
  • Opportunity to help residents thrive while strengthening community connections and housing stability
