Description

The Senior Retail Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving retail performance and operational excellence at Houston Bush International Airport. Serving as the second‑in‑command for retail operations, this position partners closely with the Director of Retail Operations to deliver strong financial results, exceptional customer experiences, and well‑led retail teams across a multi‑brand airport retail environment. This role owns the day‑to‑day retail operations, develops management talent, and ensures consistent execution of company and brand standards while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, brand partners, and stakeholders.

Salary - $65,000 - $79,000 plus annual bonus!

Resposibilities:

  • Partner with the Director of Retail Operations to achieve revenue, expense, and profitability goals while monitoring KPIs across all retail locations
  • Lead day‑to‑day operations for all stores, serving as the primary decision‑maker in the Director's absence and driving sales improvement by store, category, and brand
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive activity to inform operational strategy
  • Ensure consistent execution of SOPs, operational reviews, opening/closing procedures, and full compliance with company policies, brand standards, safety, and visual merchandising guidelines
  • Collaborate with ACDBE partners and evaluate SOP effectiveness, recommending improvements based on performance data
  • Lead, coach, and develop retail management teams; support hiring, promotions, performance management, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture
  • Oversee labor management, timekeeping, inventory control, vendor relationships, and supply chain coordination to ensure cost‑effective, fully stocked operations
  • Partner with brand and marketing teams to ensure brand compliance and execute promotional and marketing initiatives driving measurable results

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of combined education and professional experience, including at least 2 years leading retail or operations teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for up to 3 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, including compliance, visual merchandising, inventory systems, brand standards, and applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements
  • Experience in travel retail or multi‑brand environments preferred
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong business acumen, problem‑solving, and delegation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence, operational consistency, and brand compliance
