As a Senior Roadway Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of local transportation improvements including complete streets, streetscapes, roadway widening, resurfacing, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, intersections, roundabouts, traffic signal coordination, and other municipal roadway projects.This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys practical, community-focused design where the impact is visible at the local level. Candidates coming from FDOT, DOT consultant, or highway design backgrounds may be a strong fit if they are interested in pivoting toward smaller-scope municipal projects with more direct client interaction, local agency coordination, and hands‑on project ownership. The E3, E4, or E5 level will be determined based on experience, technical leadership, project responsibility, and ability to lead complex roadway assignments.Core ResponsibilitiesLead municipal roadway engineering projects from planning and conceptual design through final design and construction supportPerform roadway design tasks including horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, grading, drainage coordination, erosion control planning, quantity calculations, cost estimating, and plan productionPrepare construction plans, technical details, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and engineering calculationsReview design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents for accuracy, quality, and regulatory complianceServe as Engineer of Record when applicable, overseeing construction administration, RFIs, submittals, and field coordinationCoordinate with clients, engineers, technical staff, project managers, contractors, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary teamsPartner with Project Managers and Senior Engineers to assess risks, develop solutions, and resolve complex project challengesDevelop project action plans, assign resources, track progress, and support timely, efficient project deliveryPrepare and present project updates, progress reports, technical recommendations, and design alternatives to senior management and
