About Us:
The Caturus platform was founded by Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, with subsequent additional investment by Mubadala Energy.  Caturus is building an independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal in southwestern Louisiana.  Together, they will provide low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint.

Job Description


Position Summary:
The Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer is responsible for design, specification, commissioning and QA activities related to the rotating equipment and related equipment packages and the auxiliary systems to be integrated into the LNG plant.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Interface and coordination with other disciplines, EPC contractors, Operation, Maintenance and Vendors
  • Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data and development of project deliverables
  • Ensure conformance to applicable government regulations, engineering codes and standards as well as company QA system, FERC, PHMSA, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct studies to enhance reliability of rotating equipment technologies
  • Development of specifications and review client specifications procedures
  • Prepare, review and comment on datasheets (typically API style datasheets)
  • Prepare, review and comment, Inspection Attributes List
  • Prepare, review and comment, Schedule Vendor for delivery of equipment and providing documents
  • Support development of commissioning procedures and plans for rotating equipment
  • Pro-active review and management of vendor technical submittals
  • Develop project reference manuals
  • Prepares rotating equipment optimization, reliability enhancement reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information on the various options for equipment selection.
  • Provide engineering support by answering technical questions and requests.
  • Identification, submittal and resolution of scope changes and deviations

Qualifications:
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required
  • Professional Engineering License is preferred
Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in design, selection and application and commissioning of rotating equipment engineering roles in petrochemicals, refining, or LNG
  • Proven experience with rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, gas turbines, electric motors and gearboxes
  • Knowledge of pump and compressors’ seals
  • Knowledge of noise, leakage and emission abatement
  • Experience in commissioning rotating equipment
  • Understanding of rotodynamic and vibration analysis
  • Experience implementing & optimizing asset strategies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy in data analysis, reporting, and solution implementation to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
  • Effectively leads and facilitates cross-functional meetings and teams to align stakeholders and drive reliability initiatives forward.
  • Manages multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, maintaining focus and quality under pressure.
  • Identifies high-impact tasks, allocates resources wisely, and delivers on commitments in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, drives resolution, and takes accountability for outcomes.
  • Builds strong working relationships across disciplines and functions, communicates with empathy and professionalism, and effectively collaborates with diverse teams and personalities.
  • Experience managing/leading the rotating equipment engineers on subject projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of API, PIP, AGMA and ASME standards as they pertain to compressors and other rotating equipment.
  • The ability to evaluate compressors in both grass roots and rerate applications including thermodynamic evaluation, rotor dynamics and flow limitations.
  • Experience with LNG refrigeration compressors and their drivers, large electric motor and gas turbine is required.
  • Software knowledge should include Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prepare presentation and deliver a concept to a larger audience
  • Travel to vendor shops, module Yard, and working at site for commissioning period is required.
