SENIOR SAFETY MANAGEREnergy Generation and Industrial ConstructionLocation: Kuna, IdahoStart Date: August 17, 2026Project Duration: 6+ MonthsEngagement Type: 1099 ContractorHIGH-VISIBILITY SAFETY LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking an experienced and highly professional Safety Manager to provide on-site safety leadership for a complex energy generation project in Kuna, Idaho.This role will support high-risk construction activities involving medium-voltage electrical systems, trenching and excavation, crane and rigging operations, heavy equipment, forklift material handling, and complex equipment installations.The selected professional will serve as a trusted safety resource to project leadership, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel. This position requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, polished communication, and the confidence to address unsafe conditions while maintaining productive working relationships across the project.COMPENSATION Contractor Rate: $50-$54 per hour Per Diem: $150 Pay Frequency: Weekly Overtime: Significant overtime expectedPROJECT SCHEDULE Hours: 60+ hours per week Schedule: Five to six days per week Shift Length: Approximately 12 hours per day Shift: First shiftCandidates must be prepared to work an extended construction schedule in a fast-paced industrial environment.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Safety Manager will maintain a visible and consistent field presence across multiple active work areas.This professional will be responsible for identifying hazards before work begins, verifying that critical controls are in place, correcting deficiencies in real time, and ensuring that all construction activities comply with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E requirements, client standards, and the project-specific safety program.The role requires a safety leader who can move comfortably between field observations, contractor coordination, incident prevention, safety documentation, and project leadership meetings.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProvide daily, on-site safety leadership for all assigned construction activitiesMonitor medium-voltage electrical work and verify compliance with NFPA 70E requirementsEvaluate trenching and excavation activities, including protective systems, access, egress, spoil placement, and competent-person requirementsOversee crane operations, rigging activities, critical lifts, and material-handling practicesMonitor forklift, aerial lift, and heavy-equipment operationsConduct detailed jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessmentsReview job hazard analyses, pre-task plans, permits, and high-risk work documentationLead toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, and corrective coachingPartner with field supervision to resolve safety concerns without unnecessarily disrupting productionInvestigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditionsComplete root-cause reviews and track corrective actions through closureMaintain accurate, organized, and client-ready safety recordsIdentify recurring safety trends and recommend practical preventive measuresParticipate in project meetings and communicate safety performance to site leadershipHold employees and subcontractors accountable for compliance with established safety expectationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must have: OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 NFPA 70E training or certification Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification Minimum three years of construction safety experience Experience supporting electrical construction activities Experience overseeing trenching, excavation, heavy equipment, or crane and rigging operations Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards Demonstrated ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions Strong written documentation and reporting capabilities Professional communication skills and confidence working with project leadership Ability to work 60+ hours per week and five to six days per weekSTRONGLY PREFERRED EXPERIENCEPriority consideration will be given to candidates with experience in: Energy generation, power, industrial, or utility construction Medium-voltage electrical installations Lockout/tagout and electrical safe-work practices Excavation competent-person responsibilities Crane lift planning and rigging oversight Large crews, multiple subcontractors, and simultaneous work scopes Client-facing safety meetings and professional project reporting High-risk construction environments with demanding schedulesTHE IDEAL CANDIDATEThe strongest candidate will be:A confident and credible field safety leaderTechnically knowledgeable in electrical and heavy-construction safetyProfessional when communicating with executives, superintendents, and craft personnelComfortable addressing unsafe behavior directly and respectfullyHighly organized with strong attention to documentationProactive rather than reactiveCapable of balancing safety accountability with project productivityAble to remain composed and decisive in a fast-moving environmentThis is not a desk-based compliance role.
