Responsibilities • Maintain a regular terminal visit schedule with employees and operational personnel, conduct safety meeting and review terminal fleet safety performance. • Monitor employee performance, provide counseling, defensive driving and appropriate training programs for prevention of accidents and injuries while assuring compliance with OSHA and Federal Motor Administration regulations. • Responsible for Accident Prevention Program, Injury Prevention Program and Terminal Compliance at assigned terminals. • Perform quarterly terminal audits in detail to review of all areas including material handling equipment, facility, yard, and vehicle maintenance areas. • Assist key person in timely and accurate administration of driver/dock qualification files and driver hours of service compliance. To include but not limited to training, advancement, Fundamentals and other required documentation. • Address terminal safety needs and provide necessary guidance as needed by working with terminal manager and fleet safety personnel. • Responsible for assigned terminal performance results and maintaining accident and injury frequency within company goals. • Analysis of type and cause of accident and injury events to determine root cause and recommend appropriate remedial action. • Analyze monthly and quarterly data and identify trends and patterns, prepare written report and review results with terminal management and supervision. • Responsible for tracking and monitoring advancement candidate's progress. • Communication and interaction with local terminal trainer to provide guidance on training responsibilities. • Responsible for interviewing and recommending driver trainers at assigned terminals. • Analyze commercial vehicle inspection data and implement a program to reduce the OOS violations and to improve CSA scores for the company. • Investigate and recommend preventability of accidents. • Manage and maintain all defensive driving programs throughout Pitt Ohio. • Responsible for nominating and interviewing candidates for State Associations driver of the month awards. • Responsible for reviewing and revising driver training program for retention and development of new hire drivers each year. • Review technology on power units, such as Lytx videos, and counsel drivers accordingly. • Test new equipment with Vehicle Maintenance to make sure meets both safety and operational needs and make recommendations accordingly. • Assist with truck driving championships as needed from local to State. • Represent Company at industry functions as assigned. • Work in a positive manner to meet company expectations. • Responsible to review and monitor violations/citations as they are submitted.

Qualifications • Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • A background in Safety Management is a plus. • 3-5 years of Safety/Business Management experience is required. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is necessary. • Problem solving and analytical skills are necessary. • Frequent travel is required. • CDL experience is preferred.
