JOB DESCRIPTION
- Apex is seeking a senior Salesforce Business Analyst to lead discovery and business-process analysis for a Salesforce modernization initiative. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the delivery team, translating complex needs into clear requirements while maintaining alignment on scope, priorities, and expected outcomes.Lead discovery workshops to understand business goals, processes, pain points, priorities, and future-state needs
- Document workflows, business rules, ownership models, exceptions, use cases, and operational requirements
- Translate business needs into actionable functional requirements, epics, user stories, and measurable acceptance criteria
- Identify requirement gaps, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and potential scope impacts
- Facilitate stakeholder reviews, resolve conflicting priorities, and drive timely decisions
- Manage requirements traceability and support backlog prioritization and refinement
- Partner with architects, engineers, and testers to clarify business intent and validate that delivered functionality meets requirements
- Develop functional test scenarios and support UAT planning, business tester coordination, defect triage, and release readiness
- Support production readiness, operational documentation, training inputs, and knowledge transfer
- Communicate decisions, risks, dependencies, and open items clearly to project leadership and stakeholders
ON-SITE WORK EXPECTATIONS (US & CANADA)
As a consulting position, the work location for this role varies according to client needs. Accordingly, this is not a remote position. While some assignments may be performed largely remotely, other assignments require fully on-site work, hybrid work, and/or occasional travel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years as a Salesforce Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Product Owner supporting enterprise Salesforce programs
- Proven success leading end-to-end discovery and requirements definition for Salesforce implementations
- Strong business-process analysis, workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
- Ability to uncover implicit requirements, challenge assumptions, and define practical future-state processes
- Experience producing process flows, business rules, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation
- Experience with Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud, including case management, intake, triage, routing, work assignment, queues, or service operations
- Experience managing backlogs and supporting Agile ceremonies, including refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Experience supporting delivery through discovery, design, build, testing, UAT, deployment, and adoption
- Ability to align competing priorities and present recommendations, tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies to leadership
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Salesforce Omni-Channel and Agentforce from a business-requirements perspective
- Experience with AI-enabled workflows, integrations, or external-system dependencies
- Salesforce Business Analyst, Administrator, or Consultant certifications
- Consulting or systems-integrator experience managing multiple client stakeholders or workstreams
- Experience in fixed-fee or outcome-based delivery environments with strong scope discipline
