Senior SAP FICO Analyst

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior SAP FICO Business Analyst to support a Finance Shared Services (FSS) transformation program. The role will work closely with Finance, Shared Services, SAP, technology, and process teams to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions and support the transformation of finance processes across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP FICO functional expertise, experience with finance transformation/shared services, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, global enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance and FSS process owners to understand current-state processes, pain points, business requirements, and transformation opportunities.
• Lead functional analysis and design for SAP FI/CO processes supporting Finance Shared Services.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, solution designs, process flows, and user stories.
• Assess existing SAP processes and identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, automation, and process optimization.
• Support the design of future-state FSS processes across areas such as:
  • General Ledger and financial close
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Fixed Assets
  • Cost Center and Profit Center Accounting
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Financial reporting and master data
• Evaluate whether requirements can be addressed through existing SAP/ECC functionality, configuration, data remediation, enhancements, or integration.
• Work with technical teams and architects to define functional requirements for integrations, interfaces, reporting, workflow, and automation.
• Support POCs and iterative solution development, ensuring that technology deliverables align with the L2 business process being demonstrated.
• Participate in process discovery, fit-gap analysis, solution workshops, and design sessions with business stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain functional specifications, process documentation, requirements traceability, and acceptance criteria.
• Support SAP configuration teams by providing detailed functional guidance and validating proposed solutions.
• Coordinate with data, reporting, integration, and automation teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment.
• Define and execute functional test scenarios, including SIT, UAT, regression testing, and end-to-end business process validation.
• Support defect triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution of functional issues.
• Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and finance data quality activities required for the FSS transformation.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and impacts across Finance, SAP, downstream systems, and business processes.
• Support change management and business readiness by helping develop process documentation, training materials, and stakeholder communications.
• Act as a functional SME and trusted advisor to Finance and FSS leadership.

• 8+ years of experience in SAP Finance/FICO, with strong hands-on functional experience.
• Strong understanding of SAP FI/CO business processes and configuration.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Finance transformation and/or similar large-scale initiatives.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes and their interaction with SAP.
• Experience working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
• Experience leading requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, process design, and solution validation.
• Strong experience with SAP testing, UAT, defect management, and business process validation.
• Experience working across multiple business functions, systems, and geographically distributed teams.
• Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced transformation environment with changing priorities.

• Experience with SAP Finance transformation programs
• Experience with Finance Shared Services operating-model transformation.
• Experience with SAP Fiori and modern SAP Finance applications.
• Exposure to finance data platforms, reporting, analytics, and automation.
• Understanding of SAP integration concepts and interfaces between Finance and other enterprise systems.
• Experience with finance master data, including GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers, vendors, customers, and fixed assets.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and managing POCs through iterative delivery.
• SAP FICO certification is a plus.

The successful candidate will bridge the gap between Finance business stakeholders and the technology delivery teams, ensuring that FSS transformation initiatives result in practical, business-ready SAP solutions. They will be able to move comfortably between L2/L3/L4 finance process discussions, SAP FICO functional design, data considerations, testing, and technology delivery.
