Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scaffold Engineer to provide engineering oversight for scaffold design based on project scope, customer requirements, and applicable safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in scaffolding systems, structural/load calculations, design limitations, and load ratings, along with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license and the ability to obtain licensure through comity/reciprocity across multiple states.

This role requires a highly detail-oriented engineer who can independently manage multiple projects, produce sealed engineering drawings, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure all scaffold designs meet applicable OSHA and industry safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Develop, review, sign, and professionally seal scaffold engineering drawings and design packages.
Prepare and verify structural/load calculations for scaffold systems.
Provide engineering oversight for scaffold design based on project scope, site conditions, and customer requirements.
Ensure scaffold designs comply with OSHA regulations, applicable codes, and safety standards.
Evaluate scaffold system capabilities, limitations, load ratings, and functionality.
Support projects across the Midwest, Eastern, and Southeastern United States.
Obtain and maintain PE licensure through comity/reciprocity in applicable states.
Utilize engineering and design software to develop, review, and coordinate detailed scaffold designs.
Work closely with project teams, customers, field personnel, and other engineering professionals.
Manage multiple engineering projects while meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering department.
Assist with additional engineering and departmental responsibilities as required.
Travel to project sites when necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Ability to obtain PE licensure through comity/reciprocity in additional states as required.
Minimum 4 years of progressive engineering experience working under the supervision of a licensed PE.
Proven experience with scaffold engineering and design.
Strong understanding of scaffolding systems, load capacities, design limitations, and load ratings.
Strong proficiency with: AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Revit, Navisworks, Avontus
Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings, calculations, and sealed design packages.
Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and construction safety standards.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
