Experience
10+ years of experience in commercial construction with direct responsibility for developing, managing, and analyzing CPM schedules. Candidates should possess significant field operations and/or project management experience and demonstrate the ability to independently create detailed project schedules from conceptual information, construction documents, and limited project team input. Experience scheduling K-12 educational, commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or other large-scale construction projects is preferred.
Summary
The Senior Construction Scheduler serves as Pogue Construction's scheduling subject matter expert and is responsible for independently developing, maintaining, and analyzing comprehensive project schedules throughout all phases of construction. This individual must possess a strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and project execution, allowing them to create accurate schedules with limited direction from project teams. The Senior Scheduler partners with executive leadership, preconstruction, project management, and field operations to proactively identify schedule risks, evaluate project impacts, and develop recovery strategies that support successful project delivery. This role may also provide leadership to other schedulers, oversee scheduling efforts across multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure consistency in scheduling standards, processes, and reporting throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain multiple active project schedules simultaneously while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project goals and milestones.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior schedulers and project teams on scheduling best practices and CPM methodology.
- Coordinate workload and delegate scheduling responsibilities when supporting multiple projects or scheduling resources.
- Review schedules developed by other schedulers and project team members to verify logic, sequencing, critical path accuracy, and schedule quality.
- Establish and maintain scheduling standards, templates, and reporting procedures across the organization.
- Proficiently read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Independently develop complete CPM schedules from construction documents with minimal support from project teams.
- Develop preliminary and conceptual schedules from schematic designs, conceptual drawings, narratives, or limited project information.
- Establish logical activity durations, relationships, and sequencing based on construction expertise and industry best practices.
- Evaluate construction means and methods to develop realistic and achievable schedules.
- Lead scheduling efforts on Pogue's largest, most complex, or highest-risk projects.
- Provide schedule guidance and recommendations to project managers and superintendents throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze project delays, disruptions, and scope changes and provide schedule recovery recommendations.
- Develop recovery schedules, mitigation plans, and alternative sequencing strategies to maintain project milestones.
- Support project teams with schedule impact evaluations resulting from owner changes, weather events, procurement issues, or unforeseen conditions.

- Strong organizational and team leadership skills with the ability to influence project teams and drive accountability.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience with substantial exposure to field operations, project management, or project controls.
