The Panther Group is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support a leading organization in the ship maintenance and repair industry. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing complex production schedules that drive operational success across multiple departments.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in production scheduling, schedule modeling tools, and integrated project planning, with the ability to translate technical requirements into executable schedules. Key Responsibilities
Develop, prepare, and maintain integrated production schedules for ship maintenance programs
Build and manage detailed project schedules including sequencing, dependencies, durations, and milestones
Determine and monitor manpower, resource, and production requirements
Analyze schedule impacts on cost, delivery timelines, and resource allocation
Identify schedule risks and recommend corrective actions, including schedule revisions and manpower adjustments
Collaborate with operations, program management, facilities, and craft teams to gather inputs and resolve scheduling issues
Ensure schedules meet industry standards (including DCMA criteria where applicable)
Provide regular reporting and updates to stakeholders on schedule performance
Support continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience as a Scheduler in shipbuilding or ship maintenance environments
Hands-on experience with scheduling tools such as:
Primavera P6
MS Project
Deltek Open Plan (or similar tools)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data analysis, reporting)
Experience building and managing complex integrated production schedules
Ability to analyze project impacts on budget, resources, and delivery timelines
Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Associate degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related field
Experience applying DCMA scheduling standards
Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
Experience working in shipyard, maritime, or heavy industrial environments
Ability to recommend and implement schedule recovery plans and corrective actions
