Senior Enterprise Platform Architect (Service Management & Workflow Automation)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Platform Architect to lead the strategy, architecture, and technical direction of a large-scale enterprise workflow automation platform. This individual will serve as both the platform authority and lead solution architect, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable implementations across multiple business functions.

Working within the Enterprise Architecture organization, this role will define platform standards, establish governance, oversee solution design, and provide technical leadership for internal engineering teams and implementation partners. The position also manages a small team of platform engineers while helping guide the long-term evolution of a rapidly expanding enterprise platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall technical architecture and health of the enterprise platform.
• Establish architecture principles, development standards, governance processes, and implementation best practices.
• Lead solution design efforts from requirements through technical handoff for enterprise initiatives.
• Review and approve architecture decisions to ensure consistency, scalability, and long-term supportability.
• Design integration strategies between enterprise applications, APIs, middleware, and cloud services.
• Drive reusable development patterns and shared platform capabilities across multiple business groups.
• Govern custom application development, automation standards, and lifecycle management.
• Provide technical oversight for third-party implementation partners and ensure adherence to architectural standards.
• Evaluate new platform capabilities and recommend adoption strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Partner with business leaders, enterprise architects, infrastructure, security, and development teams on strategic initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a small team of platform administrators and developers.
• Support continuous improvement, platform optimization, and modernization initiatives.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of enterprise platform architecture or solution architecture experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting enterprise workflow or service management platforms.
• Experience leading enterprise implementations spanning multiple functional areas.
• Strong understanding of platform governance, architecture review, development standards, and enterprise design principles.
• Experience designing integrations, security models, automation workflows, and enterprise data models.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with executives, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
• Experience mentoring developers and providing architectural leadership across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with enterprise workflow automation or digital service platforms such as ServiceNow or comparable technologies.
• Background designing integrations using APIs, middleware, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience supporting highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Experience working alongside external consulting partners and system integrators.
