Job Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: Long Term Contract with possible conversion

About the Role:
ServiceNow Developer will lead the design, development, customization, integration, and governance of ServiceNow solutions that support Global Information Security business needs. This role is responsible for delivering scalable and secure platform capabilities, including custom applications, workflows, automation frameworks, integrations, scripted APIs, reporting, and release migration practices. The position partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders, developers, testers, DevOps teams, and security teams to translate requirements into high-quality technical solutions, enforce ServiceNow development standards, and ensure reliable delivery across environments. The ideal candidate brings deep ServiceNow platform expertise, strong scripting and integration skills, experience with security and risk-related ServiceNow capabilities, and a self-starter mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

Qualification:
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 7+ years ServiceNow development experience. Technical lead experience is welcome.
  • Customer-facing technical consulting experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, or Service Portal development.
  • Expertise in various ServiceNow capabilities, including GRC/IRM, Issue Management, Vulnerability Response Management, Security Incident Response (SIR), ITSM, ITAM, ITOM, and ITIL frameworks. Exposure to Advanced Risk Module is added advantage.
  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP and MID Servers.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Glide API, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with CMDB and Discovery.
  • Implement best practices in coding and design as per ServiceNow standards and community guidelines.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or other relevant certifications.
  • Proficient in reporting and dashboard set up.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology, requirements management and JIRA, or a similar RTM platform and ability to provide time estimation to work components.
  • Demonstrated history of upskilling independently, Adaptive Execution skills, and maintains a pulse on industry innovations.

Preferred:
  • Active exploration of the ServiceNow Generative AI Controller and Now Assist capabilities.
  • Have an understanding on how to bridge the gap between the Now Platform and external LLMs (OpenAI, Azure).
  • Hands-on experience or conceptual familiarity with building custom skills in the Now Assist Skill Kit
  • Experience with Generative AI capabilities to enable AI-Driven Workflow & Process Optimization.

Responsibilities:
ServiceNow Customization and Development:
  • Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows to meet business requirements.
  • Create and maintain ServiceNow forms, fields, UI policies, and business rules.
  • Implement client-side and server-side scripting to enhance ServiceNow functionality.

Automation Framework Development:
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks for ServiceNow to streamline repetitive tasks and processes.
  • Develop and manage scripts and workflows for task automation and orchestration within the ServiceNow platform.

Integration and Orchestration:
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and tools using REST APIs, web services, and other integration methods.
  • Orchestrate and automate cross-platform processes and data exchanges to improve efficiency.
  • Use the Setup Assistant to manage MID Server connections, credentials, and import schedules.

AWS Integration:
  • Develop and implement integration workflows between AWS services and ServiceNow, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.
  • Utilize AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and other serverless technologies to automate processes. Implement mechanisms for data synchronization between AWS resources (such as EC2 instances, S3 buckets, and RDS databases) and the ServiceNow platform.
  • Implement security best practices for AWS and ServiceNow integration, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the security team to address any vulnerabilities and ensure a secure integration environment.

Testing Automation:
  • Develop automated test scripts and test suites to validate ServiceNow applications and configurations.
  • Implement regression testing to ensure the stability of ServiceNow updates and customizations.

Scripting and Scripted REST APIs:
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript to create custom functionality and enhancements.
  • Develop scripted REST APIs to extend ServiceNow's capabilities and facilitate data integration.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate effectively to gather requirements, provide status updates, and address issues.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth and reliable releases.

Platform Migration & Governance Skills:
  • Extensive experience managing the ServiceNow update set lifecycle, including creation, preview, migration, and conflict resolution across multiple environments.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve update set conflicts efficiently to ensure smooth promotion of changes between instances.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for update set management, including handling skipped updates, coalescing changes, and minimizing development disruptions post-instance cloning.
  • Familiarity with Scoped Applications and understanding update set limitations versus application repositories (AppRepo) for effective development workflows.
  • Ability to enforce governance and migration standards to ensure consistent, high-quality deployments and collaborative development processes.
