This position goes beyond managing the moment \u2014 it focuses on execution, accountability, labor performance, and food safety standards at a higher level.\n \nSenior Shift Leads are responsible for running high-performance shifts, protecting labor targets, ensuring food safety compliance, and reinforcing systems across the store.\n \nPrimary Responsibilities\n \nShift Leadership & Accountability\n\n Lead all shifts with full operational ownership when the GM and AGM are not present.\n Set clear labor, sales, and service expectations at the beginning of each shift.\n Run structured shift huddles that include sales targets, SPLH goals, and focus priorities.\n Actively coach Team Captains and Crew Members during shifts.\n Hold team members accountable to positioning, script usage, and checklist completion.\n Document performance concerns and communicate them to the GM.\n \nLabor & Performance Management\n\n Actively manage labor to meet SPLH targets.\n Make real-time staffing decisions, including breaks and early cuts.\n Monitor ticket times and speed of service metrics.\n Support upselling and ticket average improvement.\n Assist in reviewing Daily Business Review metrics when assigned.\n \nFood Safety & Operational Standards\n\n Ensure strict compliance with labeling, dating, and rotation standards.\n Perform daily food safety walk-throughs.\n Confirm opening and closing checklists are completed accurately.\n Identify operational issues before they become problems.\n Ensure equipment is functioning and report maintenance issues promptly.\n \nCash & Inventory Controls\n\n Support accurate cash handling and deposits.\n Perform drawer audits when assigned.\n Assist with weekly inventory counts and variance checks.\n Report unusual inventory or waste trends to the AGM or GM.\n \nGuest Experience Leadership\n\n Model "Serve to Inspire" standards at all times.\n Resolve guest issues confidently and professionally.\n Ensure strong first impressions and proper greeting scripts are followed.\n Protect store reputation through consistent hospitality standards.\n \nDevelopment & Culture\n\n Train and mentor new Team Captains.\n Support rookie development and skill sign-offs.\n Reinforce company standards, culture, and mission daily.\n Seek feedback and actively work toward AGM readiness.\n \nQualifications\n \nMinimum 1 year of guest service experience in a restaurant or retail environment.\n \nMinimum 6 months of proven shift leadership experience.\n \nDemonstrated ability to manage labor and team performance.\n \nStrong communication and coaching skills.\n \nServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain.\n \nPreferred\n \nExperience reviewing P&L or Daily Business Review reports.\n \nExperience training new hires or leading structured training.\n \nInterest in long-term leadership growth.\n \nEssential Functions\n \nAll essential functions required of a Crew Member and Team Captain.\n \nAbility to lead shifts independently.\n \nAbility to make real-time operational decisions under pressure.\n \nAbility to manage labor, service speed, and food safety simultaneously.\n \nAbility to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.\n \nWhat We Offer\n \nOur purpose is to maintain an environment our team members can brag about, where our focus and belief are built on our core values: We Are Better Together, We Keep Evolving, We Live Our Mission, We Do the Right Thing, and We Focus and Finish.\n \nWe keep our team happy with free smoothies, flexible work schedules, lunches and parties, fitness challenges, and more fun activities to make Smoothie King a happy and healthy workplace.\n \nAt Smoothie King, when we say inspire people, we mean everyone.
