Reports to: Manager of Simulation or Tech Lead

Annual Salary: Min $110,000.00- Max $125,000.00

Job Summary:

As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of tire and vehicle simulation models. You will work closely with engineers and researchers to integrate simulation tools into the tire design process, ensuring accuracy in performance predictions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate virtual tire models for integration in DiL and offline vehicle dynamics simulations
  • Conduct structural dynamic modelling to optimize tire design using Finite Element Modeling
  • Utilize AI models to predict tire behavior, including force and moment properties, stiffness properties and transient behavior to populate virtual models for use in vehicle dynamics simulations
  • Utilize vehicle dynamics simulations both offline and with DiL to validate tire models and improve tire designs for OEM developments
  • Support the use of vehicle dynamics use on a global level, supporting implementation of equipment and training in the use of the equipment
  • Collaborate with design engineers to refine tire models and improve tire performance
  • Utilize simulation tools and software (Abaqus, LS Dyna) to analyze and predict stress propagation, wear and material behavior
  • Perform correlation studies between simulation results and physical testing
  • Document findings and provide technical recommendations for design improvements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience** in tire modeling, simulation, or automotive engineering.
  • Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-body dynamics (VI-Grade/Adams/CarSim).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., PTC Creo, CATIA) for component design.
  • Strong understanding of material properties, rubber mechanics, and tire-road interactions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • Strong communication and teamworking attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Catia, 3DExperience, AutoCAD, Creo or similar)
  • Experience with Python/Matlab coding
  • Experience in vehicle dynamics simulations both off-line and DiL (with professional driver)

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of tire materials, construction, and performance characteristics.
  • Knowledge of constitutive material models, including hyper elasticity and visco elasticity
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and real time simulation
  • Familiarity with finite element modeling (Abaqus/LS-Dyna)
  • Familiarity with Tire models used in vehicle dynamics simulation (MF-Tyre/MF-Swift/F-Tire/CD-Tire)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of digital twin technology or Virtual Tire
  • Familiarity with tire development cycles in conjunction with OEM vehicle manufacturers

Personal Attributes:

  • Innovative Thinker: ability to think creatively and propose forward-thinking solutions
  • Detailed-Oriented: strong attention to detail and accuracy in analysis and reporting
  • Collaborative: excellent team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
