Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Site Safety Manager to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in implementing our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) program across large, high-risk construction projects. In this role, you'll partner with project teams, clients, and company leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.

As the senior safety leader on assigned projects, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for client safety departments and regulatory agencies while mentoring safety professionals and supporting the company's long-term safety initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) for large and complex construction projects.

  • Partner with project teams and clients to develop customized safety programs and ensure consistent implementation across all project sites.

  • Review subcontractor safety plans and verify compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company standards.

  • Conduct advanced safety audits, jobsite inspections, and trend analyses to proactively identify and mitigate risk.

  • Lead pre-task planning reviews for high-risk work activities, including crane operations, confined space entry, fall protection, and other critical hazards.

  • Manage regulatory inspections, respond to citations, and serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies.

  • Lead complex incident investigations, facilitate root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Develop project safety dashboards and analyze leading and lagging indicators to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.

  • Prepare monthly safety performance reports for company leadership and project teams.

  • Design and deliver advanced safety training programs that strengthen hazard awareness and regulatory compliance.

  • Mentor and develop Safety Managers, Coordinators, Representatives, and Administrators through coaching, feedback, and leadership development.

  • Represent the company's safety program in client meetings, industry organizations, and business development efforts.

  • Partner with the Safety Director to support enterprise-wide EH&S initiatives, strengthen safety culture, and promote consistency across all operating divisions.

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.

  • 7–10 years of progressive safety leadership experience in commercial construction, mission critical, or other complex construction environments.

  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, state-specific safety requirements, hazard mitigation, and claims management.

  • Advanced expertise in high-risk construction activities, including fall protection, crane operations, confined space entry, excavation, and related safety programs.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing safety professionals.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using safety management software and reporting tools.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification.

  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.

  • Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) and Construction Safety and Health Technician (CSHT) certifications.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current on industry regulations and best practices.
