Senior Software Developer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support a leader in the American tobacco manufacturing industry for a 6-month contract with potential extension in a hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite per week in Greensboro, NC. The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade web, API, and mobile applications while providing technical leadership, driving software modernization initiatives, and delivering scalable solutions that support critical business operations.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Developer include:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications, mobile solutions, and backend services using C#, ASP.NET, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Build, support, and enhance RESTful APIs and integrations between business applications, databases, cloud platforms, and third-party systems.
• Lead software architecture discussions, code reviews, technical design decisions, and application modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues, optimize system performance, and support deployments while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

Qualifications for the Senior Software Developer include:

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC/Core, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and REST API development.
• Experience developing mobile applications using technologies such as .NET MAUI, Xamarin, React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android platforms.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, Git, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with Azure cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Angular or React, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile methodologies preferred.

Compensation for the Senior Software Developer:

• $65-$69/hour based on professional experience.
