Senior Software Development Engineer (Multiple Positions), Tesla, Inc., Washington, DC:
Design and implement security controls and architecture for systems that train and deploy generative AI and LLMs. Conduct threat modeling and security reviews for new and existing machine learning models and data pipelines. Collaborate with machine learning engineers to integrate security best practices into the MLOps lifecycle, from data ingestion to model inference. Develop and enforce data security policies including access control, encryption, and data anonymization, for high-performance AI applications. Build secure-by-design data products and infrastructure for the generative AI platform. Research and implement privacy-preserving machine learning (PPML) techniques to protect sensitive data. Develop automated security tooling and monitoring to detect and respond to threats against our AI infrastructure. Translate security and privacy requirements into actionable engineering solutions for data-driven projects.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $175,540.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related and 4 years of related experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related and 2 years of related.
· Must have 2 years of experience in applying machine learning and AI techniques, particularly with generative AI and LLMs;
· Must have 2 years of experience in with Python-based ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, TGI/vLLM, and NumPy);
· Must have 2 years of experience in deploying research prototypes as scalable production systems;
· Must have 2 years of experience in working with large datasets, data pipelines, and AI models; and
· Must have 2 years of experience in building robust and reliable solutions.
Requires domestic travel up to 10% in order to attend internal meetings with manager and colleagues or attend a conference/seminar related to work.
