Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52411 (Hybrid).

Pay: $96.35/hr. on W2

Duration: 12 months Contract

Citizenship : US Citizens with an active clearance

Job Description:

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Software Engineering Contractor to work with our Applied Research and Technology (ART) Microelectronics Technology team. Your work will contribute to the development of cutting-edge defense solutions across Mission Systems, leveraging your expertise developing and supporting embedded Linux Board Support Package (BSP) and driver development.

What You Will Do:

• Adhere to all applicable Collins Engineering Development and Quality processes, procedures, instructions and guidelines
• Participate in Agile team meetings and planning activities, as required to support programs covered by this work plan
• Contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems in areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boards
• Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues.
• Management of change request and task assignments through Jira

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
• An active U.S. government issued Final Secret Security Clearance is required.
• A minimum of 3 years professional experience with embedded Linux device drivers.
• Proficiency with embedded C/C++.
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python).
• Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration.
• Experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and Wireshark.
