Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

EA Information Technology (EAIT) powers the technology that connects our global workforce and supports every part of our business, from game development to marketing, publishing, security, and player experience. We create secure, scalable solutions that help teams collaborate and innovate in order to create better experiences for players worldwide.

EA''s IT Player and Creator Experience team builds platforms that support every step of the player support journey, help creators share content, and promote safe online gaming communities. The Senior Architect will report to the Director of Engineering. We develop cloud-native, low-latency, and generative AI applications at global scale, with a focus on improving player care, creator experiences, self-service capabilities, and live operations outcomes. We are looking for a Senior Architect who brings technical judgment, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to guide long-term technology strategy. This is an individual contributor role.

    Responsibilities:

    Technology Strategy & Architecture

    • You own our multi-year technology strategy for the Player and Creator Experience platform. This strategy aligns application, data, infrastructure, integration, and AI architecture with priorities such as AI Concierge, in-game care, self-service care, Live optimization, and the UGX Platform.

    • You guide architecture decisions across our stack React, Java, Python, AWS, and related technologies to create scalable, secure, maintainable platforms.

    • You lead architectural reviews, define technical standards, and help teams make decisions across products and services.

    Platform & Systems Design

    • You design distributed systems and platform capabilities that support player care, creator workflows, self-service experiences, high-volume support, and global availability.

    • Define API, data, cloud infrastructure, and integration patterns across transactional, analytical, and real-time systems.

    • Partner with DevOps, SRE, security, enterprise architecture, legal, and compliance teams to meet reliability, privacy, security, and regulatory needs.

    AI & Engineering Innovation

    • You Lead AI and generative AI strategy for the platform, including AI Concierge, AI-assisted player care, self-service experiences, and engineering productivity use cases.

    • Prototype and evaluate AI solutions using AWS Bedrock, LLMs, and related technologies, while supporting responsible AI practices for player-facing and internal tools.

    • Advance AI-driven development practices, including better use of AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, architecture analysis, and operational support.

    Technical Leadership

    • You build proof-of-concepts, review critical designs or code, and help teams de-risk important technical decisions.

    • You mentor our architects and senior engineers, communicate trade-offs, and build shared engineering practices across our teams.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent practical experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

    • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading architecture strategy for enterprise, platform, or high-scale digital products.

    • Experience designing systems across multiple architecture domains, such as application development, data, infrastructure, integration, security, cloud platforms, or AI.

    • Connect our product and business team goals to technical roadmaps, architecture decisions, and reusable platform capabilities.

    • Hands-on experience validating technical direction through prototypes, proof-of-concepts, technical spikes, or code-level design reviews.

    • Experience designing distributed systems on AWS or similar cloud platforms, with exposure to EKS, Lambda, Redis, OpenSearch, or related technologies.

    • Hands-on expertise on React, Java, Python, APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and data platforms.

    • Experience with a non-relational / noSQL database such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or Redis.

    • Experience establishing architecture patterns, engineering standards, or coding practices across multiple teams.

    • Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or AI-enabled product and engineering workflows, with an understanding of responsible AI practices.

    • Experience communicating architecture decisions and trade-offs to engineering, product, and senior business leaders.
