Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

• 3 years of experience with building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

• Experience programming in C++.

• Experience with Database Internals and Query Processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

• Experience with CUDA programming (or similar) on GPUs.

• Experience with database internals.

• Experience with low-level systems implementation, performance analysis and optimization, and engineering for scalability.

• Experience with C++ to implement multiple database query processing algorithms and data structures on GPU.

• Experience working on performance improvement projects spanning multiple functional areas.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.

• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.

• Improve BigQuery engine to remove bottlenecks for low latency queries, design solutions that are easy to maintain and extend.

• Work with BigQuery and Dremel codebase, which is primarily C++ with some Java in control planes and Python for tests.
