Overview

Client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to identify, prototype, and deliver Generative AI solutions for an Institutional Banking organization. This hands-on role combines software engineering, applied AI, solution prototyping, systems integration, and emerging technology evaluation. The engineer will transform business opportunities into working solutions, support AI governance processes, and help transition validated concepts into production.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy proof-of-concept and production-ready Generative AI solutions.
  • Develop AI-enabled applications and workflows using large language models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, agentic AI, document intelligence, workflow automation, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Evaluate emerging Generative AI platforms, tools, technologies, and vendors.
  • Rapidly prototype business ideas, conduct technical experiments, and demonstrate solution viability.
  • Partner with Institutional Banking stakeholders to identify AI opportunities involving productivity, decision-making, client service, operational efficiency, and risk management.
  • Design and implement integrations between AI platforms, enterprise systems, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Support governance, risk, compliance, security, model review, and technology approval processes.
  • Document technical approaches, risks, controls, architectures, and implementation considerations.
  • Establish reusable engineering patterns and best practices for AI solution development.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, secure, testable code.
  • Create technical documentation, reference architectures, implementation guidance, presentations, and demonstration materials.
  • Present prototypes, technical findings, recommendations, and solution roadmaps to stakeholders and senior managers.
  • Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Generative AI solutions.
  • Research industry developments and evolving Generative AI governance, regulatory, security, and risk considerations.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing web-based or distributed applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, large language models, AI-enabled applications, or related emerging technologies.
  • Experience developing software solutions using modern programming languages, frameworks, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Experience independently developing secure, maintainable, and testable software.
  • Ability to take solutions from initial concept through prototyping, validation, implementation, and production support.
  • Experience integrating applications, enterprise systems, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and translate business opportunities into working software solutions.

Preferred Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience implementing or evaluating Retrieval-Augmented Generation, agentic AI workflows, document intelligence, or workflow automation platforms.
  • Experience supporting proofs of concept, technical experimentation, and innovation initiatives.
  • Experience operating within regulated industries.
  • Experience partnering with governance, risk, compliance, security, or legal teams.
  • Experience evaluating vendor technologies and presenting technical recommendations to business and technology leadership.

  • Hybrid position requiring 2 days per week onsite.
  • Office location: 11501 Outlook Street, Suite 300, Overland Park, KS.
  • Contract dates: August 10, 2026 through February 10, 2027.
