Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer III designs, develops, tests, and supports scalable, enterprise-grade applications using Java and modern cloud technologies. This role is responsible for the full software development lifecycle and requires strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Terraform, and Jenkins CI/CD. The engineer partners with architects, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable Java applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.

• Participate throughout the full SDLC, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.

• Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC.

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Develop and manage Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, testing, and deployment.

• Apply software design patterns, object-oriented principles, secure coding practices, and development standards.

• Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.

• Integrate applications with internal and external systems through APIs, messaging platforms, and cloud services.

• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective, maintainable solutions.

• Develop automated tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational procedures.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to application performance, reliability, security, and development efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Java.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

• Extensive experience developing microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.

• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC.

• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.

• Experience developing and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficiency with Git and modern source control practices.

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.

• Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito, or comparable frameworks.

• Strong understanding of application security, coding standards, and software quality practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or other messaging technologies.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Familiarity with Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar monitoring and logging platforms.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps and cloud security practices.

• AWS certification such as Developer Associate or Solutions Architect.
