Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer for the Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting Application with 10 years of solid technology experience and demonstrated technical leadership capability. The Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting is a mission-critical Mainframe Legacy application with COBOL, JCL, DB2, Endeavor, Advanced File Handling, and Online/Batch Processing. This application is approximately 60 years old with both Online and Batch Programs. The ideal candidate must be proficient at tracing through complex COBOL Code using advanced Debug Tools, quickly determining the Root Cause, and implementing the most viable mitigation strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in IT and COBOL development
  • Experience in maintaining complex Legacy Code
  • Proficiency in Application Solutions, Client Word, CA-7, Coding, Database - DB2/UDB, User Stories, Z/OS, and Acceptance Testing
  • Experience in Batch Processing, Complex Deployment Planning, Client Windows, Data Integrity, IBM DB2, IT Management Methodology, Mainframe DB, Application Development, Computer Security, Data Governance, IT Support, Access Controls, Application Support, Customer Information Control System (CICS)
  • Analytical skills, Application Design, COBOL, production release, Agile Software Development, Application Testing, Data Management, Mainframe Systems, JSON, API, User Acceptance Testing
  • Prior work experience at client or in the client's Industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile Methodology and Jira
  • Exposure to advanced technologies such as SAP and JAVA
  • Ability to bridge advanced technologies with complex legacy interfaces in a fast-paced environment using Agile Methodology

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Assist with Enhancement/New Development Projects, including research, analysis, functional/technical specifications, formal testing, and deployment
  • Operations Support including triage and resolution
  • Maintain accurate systems documentation and adhere to coding standards in accordance with guidelines, controls, and security policies
  • Engage in technical discussions within the Application Team and with other interfacing Applications
  • Bridge Legacy Mainframe Systems with new and leading-edge technology
  • Develop technical solutions, lead, and guide small teams through complex technical situations
