About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing federal technology services company, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to support advanced engineering programs across the Department of War, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, and Federal Civilian agencies.
This role will provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams working on software engineering, cloud modernization, DevSecOps, Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, data analytics, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled solutions.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can guide engineering teams, engage with government customers, support program execution, and contribute to technical solutioning and growth initiatives.
Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Mentor engineers and promote strong engineering practices and collaboration.
Provide technical oversight across architecture, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
Translate customer requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Support software engineering, cloud modernization, DevSecOps, Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, data analytics, and AI initiatives.
Guide the integration of modern technologies, APIs, automation, and cloud-native architectures.
Ensure solutions align with cybersecurity, Zero Trust, and federal compliance requirements.
Work closely with Program Managers, government customers, technical stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Participate in technical meetings, demonstrations, customer briefings, and solution discussions.
Support proposals, technical solutioning, white papers, capture activities, and transition planning.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve mission effectiveness.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
8+ years of experience leading technical teams supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, DHS, or Federal Civilian customers.
Experience delivering enterprise software, Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, DevSecOps, cloud modernization, systems engineering, or AI-enabled solutions.
Strong understanding of Agile software development and systems engineering principles.
Experience working directly with government customers and senior/executive stakeholders.
Strong technical leadership, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred/required for this opportunity.
Experience supporting technical proposals, capture activities, and transition planning.
Experience with MBSE, Digital Twins, Unity, Unreal Engine, or Modeling & Simulation frameworks.
Experience with AWS or Azure, Kubernetes, containers, and DevSecOps pipelines.
Familiarity with AI/ML applications, data engineering, and advanced analytics.
PMP, Agile, SAFe, or related certifications.
