Overview
Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation is the team behind the infrastructure that powers Microsoft's cloud. Within the organization, our engineering teams build secure, scalable, and intelligent platforms that support complex planning, execution, and operational workflows to support Microsofts capacity delivery expansion plans.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong full-stack development experience. You will work closely with product managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable, maintainable, and intuitive solutions. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. We build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Create, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse high-quality code to improve application performance, reliability, security, accessibility, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
Design and implement secure service integrations using REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, OAuth 2.0, Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, role-based access control, and API management patterns.
Build AI-powered applications and agents using Microsoft Foundry, Foundry Agent Service, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Microsoft Agent Framework, Semantic Kernel, or related technologies, including grounding, tool integration, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and responsible AI controls.
Apply AI-assisted engineering tools and practices to improve development velocity and quality across requirements analysis, architecture, coding, code review, testing, debugging, modernization, documentation, and live-site investigation.
Develop agent tools and integrations that securely connect AI experiences to enterprise APIs, data sources, workflows, and business systems while respecting user identity, authorization, data boundaries, and least-privilege access.
Partner with other engineering teams to identify dependencies, resolve complex system-integration challenges, and develop design documents for products, services, APIs, and platform capabilities.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, release planning, testing, deployment, telemetry implementation, and production readiness activities.
Support live-site operations as a Designated Responsible Individual when appropriate, investigate service degradation, communicate status, and contribute to restoring service for complex issues.
Proactively learn and apply emerging engineering and AI patterns that improve system availability, observability, security, performance, evaluation quality, and operational consistency at scale.
