    Description

Candidates for this position are preferred to be based in our Boston office and will be expected to comply with their team's hybrid work schedule requirements (3 days/week in office Tues-Thursday)

    Who We Are:

Gambit is Wayfair’s experimentation platform that enables high-velocity, high-quality experimentation through a suite of low-code authoring tools, developer APIs and integrations, and comprehensive reporting and intelligent insights that accelerate the test->learn->iterate cycle.

The Experimentation Platform Product Manager is the owner and strategic lead for Gambit. They own the Gambit technical roadmap, in partnership with product and data science, to build new capabilities and  maintain the existing platform. This role ensures that Gambit is consistently improving experimentation velocity across the organization while maintaining a high bar for quality.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Lead and manage a team of 5 - 9 engineers focused on building services, SDKs, and integrations to power experimentation across the Wayfair enterprise.

    • Own the output of the team both from a technical and performance perspective.

    • Mentor engineers in the team through training, coaching, code reviews, and 1:1 mentorship providing career and professional development for your staff.

    • Work not only within your pod, but across the workgroup and wider Wayfair Engineering to deliver value in a collaborative environment.

    • Be accountable for the systems built by your team including technical design, development, test, monitoring, and deployment.

    • Engage your team to construct the technical roadmap and lead planning, delivery and continuous improvement.

    • Partner with product on defining roadmaps and ensure the team has a compelling mission with well defined KPIs to measure progress and success.

    • Raise the bar from both a technical and process perspective.

We Are a Match Because You Have:

    • 6+ years of software development experience with strong familiarity in Java SpringBoot, React, Typescript, and other Frontend Web  technologies. Experience with GCP or AWS is a plus.

    • 3+ years of experience managing a high performing engineering team.

    • Experience leading a platform team for a large enterprise is preferred.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).

    • Ability to think creatively and find opportunities in processes, code and architecture to improve.

    • A collaborative approach to problem solving and strong communication skills, able to work effectively with engineers, product managers, machine learning scientists, data scientists and business stakeholders.

    • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

    • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective product software engineers
