This position owns the engineering quality, constructability, and performance of commercial and complex solar PV projects across the full project lifecycle.This is not a high‑volume drafting role. The Senior Engineer is expected to exercise independent engineering judgment, guide design decisions, identify and mitigate technical risk, and support project teams from early feasibility through installation and commissioning.What You'll DoEngineering Leadership & DesignLead system design for commercial and complex solar PV projects, including system sizing, equipment selection, and electrical configurationEvaluate site conditions, electrical infrastructure, and interconnection requirements to inform optimal system layoutsReview and approve engineering plan sets for accuracy, constructability, performance, and code complianceGuide equipment selection for modules, inverters, BOS components, and energy storage, where applicableEnsure designs meet AHJ, utility, and applicable code requirements while balancing cost, performance, and schedulePerformance & Risk ManagementDevelop, validate, and refine production and performance estimatesIdentify technical risks and design constraints early and recommend mitigation strategiesSupport troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for design‑related issues during installation and commissioningMaintain accurate as‑built documentation and system recordsCross‑Functional CollaborationPartner with Sales, Operations, and Installation teams to align engineering decisions with commercial and execution goalsProvide technical guidance on system feasibility, constructability, and equipment compatibilitySupport continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and workflowsMentorship & Continuous ImprovementServe as a technical resource for junior engineers and reviewersStay current on codes, technologies, and industry best practicesContribute to scalable design standards that support long‑term growthWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in solar PV engineering, system design, or technical leadershipStrong experience with commercial solar projects; utility‑scale experience a plusDemonstrated ability to independently own engineering decisions across the project lifecycleDeep understanding of PV systems, electrical design, inverters, and balance‑of‑system componentsProficiency with solar design, modeling, and CAD toolsFamiliarity with permitting, AHJ requirements, and utility interconnection processesStrong communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionallyPreferred / Nice to HaveNABCEP PV Design certificationExperience with battery storage or EV infrastructure integrationExperience supporting TPO or financed commercial projectsPrior responsibility for reviewing or guiding third‑party engineering deliverablesCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $95,000–$120,000, depending on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid time offLife insuranceWhy This Role at GreenlinkSenior engineers at Greenlink are trusted to think critically, make decisions, and influence how work gets done.
