About the Role
Atombeat is seeking a Boston-based Business Development Manager to expand our commercial presence across the U.S. biotech ecosystem. This role is sales-oriented, network-driven, and externally focused, with responsibility for originating, advancing, and closing new commercial opportunities across biotech and pharmaceutical organizations.
This position is ideal for a scientifically trained BD professional who enjoys opening doors, building trust, and converting scientific interest into revenue-generating engagements. You will own sales opportunities end-to-end, while receiving full support from internal technical and product teams.
Solution Architecture & Custom Design
• Design customized drug discovery and Agentic AI solution architectures tailored to the scientific objectives, constraints, and maturity of biotech and pharma partners • Translate customer scientific challenges into structured solution frameworks, including: • Platform configurations • Workflow designs • Scope definitions and success criteria • Balance scientific rigor, technical feasibility, and commercial practicality when shaping proposed solutions • Serve as the primary owner of the solution narrative, ensuring consistency across technical, scientific, and business dimensions.
BD Enablement & Client Engagement
• Partner closely with Business Development to support: • Pre-sales discovery conversations • Technical deep dives • Executive-level scientific presentations • Act as a trusted scientific and technical counterpart to customer teams, including computational scientists, medicinal chemists, and research leadership • Help frame use cases, value propositions, and differentiation in customer-appropriate language • Participate in key external meetings, conferences, and workshops as a solution and science representative of the company.
Internal Coordination & Delivery Alignment
• Work with internal product, platform, and research teams to: • Align proposed solutions with actual technical capabilities and roadmaps • Ensure smooth handoff from pre-sales architecture to project execution • Refine reusable solution patterns and best practices over time • Provide feedback from customer engagements to inform platform evolution and roadmap prioritization • Support internal documentation, templates, and reference architectures for common solution scenarios
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in drug discovery, computational chemistry, AI-driven research platforms, or related scientific technology roles • Master's or PhD degree in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, computational science, or a related field • Strong ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into structured, client-ready solutions • Experience engaging directly with external scientific and technical stakeholders • Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting to both technical experts and senior decision-makers
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing or supporting custom research workflows, AI platforms, or computational drug discovery solutions • Prior involvement in pre-sales, solution consulting, or customer-facing technical roles • Familiarity with AI-assisted drug discovery, physics-based modeling, or integrated discovery platforms • Exposure to biotech or pharma decision-making processes and project lifecycles
