JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Solution Architect - Finance guides the development and management of technology solutions across the Finance portfolio, with a focus on key initiatives that improve automation, organizational effectiveness, and scalable business processes. This position provides leadership, analysis, and design expertise to ensure Finance solutions meet business needs, align with architectural governance and standards, and support efficient, well-controlled ways of working. The role serves as a strategic partner to Finance leaders and process owners, jointly developing Finance capability roadmaps, shaping initiative priorities, identifying dependencies, and recommending the appropriate sequencing of process, data, and technology investments. The role partners with Tech & Data product and project teams, and enterprise architects to connect business strategy with practical technology roadmaps and sustainable solution architecture. 

This is a hybrid role based out of our Oak Park Heights, MN office location.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents solution architecture design and analysis work.  

• Partners with Finance process owners to assess whether processes should be standardized, simplified, redesigned, or automated before recommending technology solutions. Promotes adoption of common enterprise processes and limits customization unless a documented business, regulatory, or control requirement exists. 
• Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.  
• Supports product managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes and information. Analyzes the technology industry, competitors, and market trends, and determines their potential implications for a given solution.  
• Facilitates the evaluation, selection and TCO of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.  
• Ensures Finance solutions incorporate appropriate security, privacy, segregation-of-duties, approval, reconciliation, audit-trail, records-retention, resiliency, and financial-control requirements from initial design through implementation. 
• Leads architecture governance by defining and promoting solution architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and design patterns, while guiding product owners, architects, and agile teams to ensure technology investments and solution designs are aligned with enterprise architecture strategy, governance requirements, and future-state objectives.
• Provides deliverables like standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs to support architectural governance to assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment.  
• Coaches and mentors other technical or solution architects. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of eight years of business process experience in finance.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in IT disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development. Understanding of security controls is critical. 
• Exposure to OneStream, Infor solutions preferred.
• Understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business processes.
• Skilled at influencing, guiding and facilitating stakeholders and peers. 
• Working knowledge of Finance business processes, financial controls, enterprise data concepts, and how technology solutions support Finance operations.
• Effective interpersonal skills to work creatively and analytically for solving business problems, technical problems and propose solutions. 
• Understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
• Experience delivering presentations to leaders and technical audiences. 

PAY RANGE:

$124,235.00 - $192,565.00

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
