Performs a wide variety of assignments using analytical skills to resolve complex problems.The Senior SPA Proposal Analyst will work among the proposal team and help departments with their funding proposals and submissions. In addition, will work with the PIs to successfully submit research proposals and the required compliance areas related to the awards which included IACUC, IRB, COI. As a Senior in this role, you will work with more complex types of submissions and awards. This role may also become a subject matter expert for a particular sponsor, type of award, or area of review. Helps research staff navigate any modifications or continuations which might occur. Reviews progress reports and collaborates with new PIs to transfer grant portfolio. This is a deadline driven area within Sponsored Programs Administration due to the various submission deadlines of our sponsors throughout the year. Heavy deadlines with NIH and other various sponsors requires the need of this position to avoid backlog of the proposals.This position falls under a mostly remote hybrid work schedule and will require to be in office several times throughout the year and as needed.BENEFITSPPO medical plan, available day one at no cost for full-time employee-only coveragePaid Time Off, available day oneRetirement Programs through the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS)Paid Parental Leave BenefitWellness programsTuition ReimbursementPublic Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Qualified EmployerEducation : Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, or related field.Experience : 3 years of experience in business, finance, or public administration with emphasis on customer service.PreferredEducation : Master's Degree or other advanced degree.Licenses and Certifications : Certified Research Administrator (CRA) designation Upon Hire.JOB DUTIESHas responsibilities performing tasks at the advanced level for the pre-award services within Sponsored Programs Administration.Provides funding opportunity information to potential applicants at the university.Provides guidance to researchers for proposal development and submission by interpreting and ensuring adherence to sponsor and university guidelines.May provide backup assistance to Research Award Accountants in setup of awards.Provides award lifecycle support to researchers by interpreting award conditions, obtaining approvals, and preparing award changes, no-cost extensions, progress reports, and non-financial obligations.Independently reviews and approves complex proposals.Monitors status of pending proposals and updates eGrants and Departmental staff where applicable.Fully understands the award lifecycle and provides support to all areas within Sponsored Programs.Familiarity with broad knowledge of the entire award lifecycle. Provides assistance gathering information needed to answer pre-award inquiries.
