Akkodis is seeking a Senior Specialist, Project Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Salt Lake City, UT. The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering project management, cost and schedule management, cross-functional coordination, and technical program execution, along with strong communication and leadership skills.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $63.50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Specialist, Project Engineer Job Responsibilities Include:

• Manage day-to-day tactical activities for assigned engineering programs and Global Trade Compliance projects while supporting program execution and operational objectives.

• Monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance to ensure alignment with program goals, customer expectations, and contractual commitments.

• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering project management, cross-functional teams, resource managers, and leadership to ensure effective communication and project coordination.

• Track project progress, budgets, schedules, risks, and key milestones while preparing status reports and recommending corrective actions when necessary.

• Identify and resolve complex project issues impacting productivity, quality, schedule performance, and customer satisfaction.

• Coordinate project reviews, staffing requirements, approvals, lessons learned activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to support long-term program success.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited Engineering discipline and a minimum of six years of relevant project engineering or program management experience.

• Alternatively, a graduate degree with a minimum of four years of related experience, or ten years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• Experience supporting engineering projects involving cost management, schedule management, technical execution, and cross-functional coordination.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, leadership, customers, vendors, and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.

• Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), cost estimation, schedule development, forecasting, and project controls.

• Experience coordinating activities across multiple engineering disciplines and supporting large-scale technical programs.

• Experience communicating directly with customers and presenting project information to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience supporting communications systems, open systems architecture, satellite communications, defense systems, space systems, or related engineering programs.

This position requires the use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay Details: $60.00 to $63.50 per hour
