The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is looking for a Senior Specialty Space Planner to oversee specialty space planning initiatives and coordinate implementation of specialty space allocations within the corporate real estate portfolio. GREF is responsible for Amazon"s corporate office portfolio across more than 60 countries, providing real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations-all contributing to the employee experience and enabling culture to thrive at Amazon. Within GREF, the Global Planning Strategy team establishes the mechanisms and systems that GREF utilizes for managing global space allocation, working closely with GREF Strategy, GREF Tech, and GREF"s regional Space Planning teams.

This role will serve as the owner for specialty space planning, leading intake, strategy development, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful delivery within approved timelines and budgets. Amazon"s specialty spaces include remote management facilities (RMFs), prototyping labs, executive briefing centers, war rooms, skill centers, quantum computing labs, broadcast operations, robotics facilities, video studios, and more. You will leverage your business partnering, relationship building, strategic planning, organizational research, and program management skills to integrate the interests of enterprise partners with business requirements. The role will align real estate strategy to business needs in partnership with GREF Business Partnering, Occupancy Planning, and Regional Portfolio Management, developing strategic recommendations on specialty space allocations by leveraging Amazon"s size and scale and translating business requirements into effective solutions aligned with workplace strategy.

This is a high-visibility role that will directly influence outcomes across GREF and business partners company-wide. The position requires customer-centric strategic planning, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication. A track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is a must. The ideal candidate leads with curiosity, works collaboratively across complex systems, and is sensitive to diverse stakeholder perspectives. Being self-driven, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities is key to success.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
