Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with strong real estate accounting experience to support a growing portfolio of commercial and residential assets. This role will be responsible for property-level financial reporting, general ledger oversight, and ensuring accurate, timely accounting across multiple entities.The ideal candidate understands the operational realities of property management and how financial performance directly impacts NOI, asset valuation, and ownership returns.Core ResponsibilitiesProperty-Level Accounting & ReportingPrepare and review monthly financial statements for a portfolio of commercial and residential propertiesPerform detailed variance analysis against budget and prior periodsMaintain accurate property-level general ledgersRecord and reconcile rent rolls, concessions, CAM reconciliations, and tenant recoveriesEnsure proper revenue recognition and expense allocation by property and entityMonth-End Close & ReconciliationsPrepare journal entries, accruals, and reclassesComplete bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entitiesReview and reconcile intercompany transactionsAssist with monthly close timelines and reporting packagesCommercial & Residential Specific FunctionsProcess and reconcile CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges and annual true-upsTrack TI (Tenant Improvement) and leasing commissions amortizationSupport construction draw tracking and development accountingMonitor utility reimbursements, RUBS allocations, and tenant bill-backsMaintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation by propertyBudgeting & Financial AnalysisAssist with annual property budgets and reforecastsSupport ownership reporting and lender reporting requirementsPartner with property managers and asset management to analyze expense trendsEnsure expenses align with approved budgets and contractsCompliance & AuditAssist with year-end audit supportEnsure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal accounting controlsMaintain organized documentation for property transactions and vendor contractsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance4+ years of accounting experience, with direct real estate portfolio exposure preferredExperience with property management accounting platforms (AppFolio, RealPage, Yardi, MRI, etc.)Strong understanding of:Property-level P&Ls, CAM reconciliations, Multi-entity accounting structures, Accrual-based accountingAdvanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, financial analysis, modeling)Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple properties simultaneously#J-18808-Ljbffr
