Senior Staff Accountant

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to lead core accounting activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role oversees general ledger management, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, fixed assets, tax compliance, and intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities:
Build strong partnerships with corporate headquarters and internal stakeholders to support business operations and financial reporting needs.
Manage general ledger accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Lead inventory accounting processes, including inventory tracking and reconciliation with operational records.
Review financial transactions and prepare journal entries in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely completion of all account reconciliations.
Drive and coordinate month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Develop executive-level financial presentations and analytical reports to support decision-making.
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Ensure service orders, machine orders, and inventory transactions are accurately recorded and processed within SAP.
Maintain finance ledgers that support management reporting and statutory compliance requirements.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset tracking, depreciation schedules, reporting, additions, and disposals.
Coordinate ACH, wire transfer, and banking activities in partnership with Treasury and Accounts Payable teams.
Reconcile intercompany accounts and manage weekly intercompany payment activities.
Analyze travel and expense spending trends and provide reporting to management.
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns accurately and on schedule.
Maintain tax records and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with multi-state and local tax regulations.
Reconcile sales tax payable accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of Senior Staff Accountant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting manufacturing and/or distribution operations.
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
Demonstrated experience with inventory accounting and inventory reconciliations.
Proficiency with fixed asset accounting, depreciation management, and related reporting.
Advanced SAP experience required, including reporting and analytical tools that support SAP environments.
