About the Role:
This Senior Staff Accountant role focuses on general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and real estate accounting operations. The position supports both corporate accounting and property-level financials, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. Ideal for professionals with experience in real estate, property management accounting, or multi-entity environments, this role offers exposure to full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers for corporate entities and real estate operating properties
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortization, and intercompany transactions
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for corporate and property-level operations
  • Reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and property cash flow activity to ensure accuracy
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including expense coding and revenue tracking
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including property management and finance to resolve discrepancies
  • Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and special accounting projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate accounting or property management accounting
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software such as Yardi, Sage Timberline, or similar ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, and financial modeling basics
  • Understanding of month-end close processes, accrual accounting, and intercompany transactions
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with real estate financials, property-level reporting, and tenant accounting
  • Knowledge of consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and multi-entity accounting structures
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a real estate environment
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification
  • Experience improving accounting processes, internal controls, or system implementations
