Senior Staff Accountant

Bishop & Co. is seeking top talent for a respected CPA firm to find a skilled Senior Staff Accountant with strong technical accounting expertise and leadership ability. This role offers the opportunity to oversee junior staff, manage complex client engagements, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting across a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Oversee day-to-day financial reporting and review accounting staff work
  
• 
  Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts in line with firm procedures
  
• 
  Prepare and analyze client financial statements and month-end close
  
• 
  Assign work and support the development of junior accounting team members
  
• 
  Ensure compliance with GAAP, SSARS, and firm quality standards
  
• 
  Work with tools including QuickBooks (Online/Desktop), bill.com, CCH Engagement, and Excel
  
• 
  Research accounting issues and provide solutions to the engagement team
  
• 
  Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams to keep projects moving
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  
• 
  3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; CPA or CGMA preferred
  
• 
  Proven ability to lead or mentor staff and manage multiple priorities
  
• 
  Strong technology skills and experience in a paperless environment
  
• 
  QuickBooks Online certification or willingness to obtain it annually
  
• 
  Ability to work independently with strong time management and accuracy
  
• 
  Dedicated home office setup that meets firm technology requirements
